The elderly inhabitants, guardians of the island’s culture, walk beside their donkeys along Lagada’s idyllic paths.

The meals are like a warm embrace, evoking the nostalgia of Sunday family lunches. Each recipe showcases fresh, local ingredients, enhancing the island’s true flavors.
The tavern was once Maria Patinioti’s family home. If you look closely in the kitchen, you’ll see how small and intimate it is. This reflects the island’s down-to-earth charm. Maria’s husband, George Roussos, takes care of fishing and making the famous Amorgos salt with deep respect for nature. Here, handmade means more than a choice—it’s a way of life. Among the dishes we savor are wood-fired bread with salted fish, lemon, and dill. Fried pies filled with wild herbs and handmade cheese complete the meal.
