This year’s summer break was certainly a good one for us. We went for our vacation to the stunning Paros Island in Greece. Our family embarked on a holiday in a beach that was promising of a lot of fun. It was eight marvelous days, that included sunbathing on the fame beaches, and conquating the tastiest dishes of the island’s leading restaurants. A sneak peek into our feel-good episode is shown below.
The itinerary starts already from the first day staying at Paros:
On the first day of our vacations, we landed in the island in the afternoon and the weather was warm Mediterranean. Once we got into our beautiful little villa by the sea, we went for a walk in Parikia, the island’s main town. The kids were delighted to see such a beautiful town, with cobbled pathways and beautiful white washed houses and bougainvillea trees. Our last meal of the day was at Taverna Mythos, which is busy most nights and specialises in fish and other Greek island food. The grilled octopus stand was one of the favorite and the kids liked the traditional moussaka.

The second day – Beach Bliss at Kolymbithres
Our first choice of the beach was Kolymbithres. This beach is famous for the smooth and tall rocks and clear sea. The kids enjoyed swimming on the natural formed pools between the rocks and we relaxed on the sandy bare parts of the area, sun bathing. This was a very equipped beach, having umbrellas and sun beds to be rented and therefore suitable to combine with family day activity. Later that evening, we had dinner at Barbarossa. We feasted our eyes on the great sun set view as much as the great seafood platter.
For with the holiday, on the third day it is recommended to sunbathe at Golden Sands at Chrissi Akti.
The destination of the day was Chrissi Akti – the translation of which into English literally means “The Golden Beach”. This beach which was formed by a thin layer of golden sand and which had negligible tidal activity was ideal for a family affair. The children sank buckets, and played in the water, where there was an entrance of one feet depth and the others read and slept taking turns. We took lunch at Mario restaurant, which is a restaurant by the beach, where they prepare inviting Greek salads and good drinks. The environment was casual and appropriate to have the break at about the mid morning.
The day 4 deal is solely associated with the discovery of Naoussa with special remembrance to the harbour area.
We did therefore decide to spend a day in Naoussa, which is a beautiful fishing village with the most beautiful harbour and atmosphere. Again when walking the narrow, most of the time was enjoyed viewing the various boutiques and local art pieces. Lunch was at Soso restaurant – an exceptional eating place recognized for New-Era Greek food. Lamb chops and the homemade sweets were all tagged as the best, as the food served was superb and this served the purpose of making us enjoy the meal at the place. So far, I can say as the experience in Paros island it is going so great!

Day 5: Santa Maria Beach Day
Santa Maria Beach is a virgin destination, with clear water and sufficient space for children to run around at. Some of the options we undertook include hiring some kayaks and paddle around the bays we found around the area and marvel at the calmness of the seas. Over the options that were available in water sports, kids were very excited and we had our packed lunch under the shade of some outstanding tamarisk trees. Since I missed to be able to dine at EST, dinner that night was at Levantis and the seafood risotto and the grilled calamari were special.
The day six was more of adventure day at Piso Livadi.
The first one was Piso Livadi considered owing to the presence of a beautiful yet quite tiny coast, accompanied by a charming small shelter. Here we were not so much engaged and had the opportunity to take a look at the view to the Aegean Sea, and taste some of the sweets in one of the mentioned bakeries. Lunch was at Halaris restaurant, where they offered fresh fish and offered Traditional Greek specialties. The family agreed that the sardines were possibly the tastiest that was ever grilled to a crisp that I have tasted.
Day 7: Free time as such sunbathing and swimming at Logaras Beach
Logaras Beach was very favourable for leisure. This mainly due to the fact that the sea currents are rather calm and safe for children. Fry, we relaxed and engaged in swimming and lying down on the beach and the kids tried their hand on beach volley ball. The food in Greece is great and for the lunch I decided to take us to lunch in To Souvlaki Tou Pepe, that is well known for souvlaki and gyros. Everyone relished the occasion to the comfort and lip smacking delicious dishes that were being served.
Day 8 – Do not take pictures of me with my new found fiends for Paros bids us goodbye.
Our last day in Paros island and the last chance to repeat some of the fascinating moments, and enjoy the atmosphere of the island walking through Parikia. Taking advantage of this facility, we had our final dinner at the restaurant named Dionysos, where we tasted classic Greek food and came across the contemporary addition to it. Thus, seafood pasta and baklava were the dishes that contributed to the nice end of the rather colourful vacation.
The last day was great. On our way back home during the flight, we claimed to have fond and beautiful memories. Paros, indeed, had what we wanted and even more – beautiful sand dunes, taste meals and, finally, the time spent together as the members of the same family in one of the most popular Greek islands. If you are interested in getting some rest, admire beautiful views and have great meals, the Paros Island vacation is something for you.
